wrongfully fired?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA

i knew a month ago i needed to take off this past saturday and leave work early on friday (3 hours early) and i couldn't find any1 to swap with me after asking everyone available...on thursday night i was told i could get out early friday and that they would be covered for saturday...ok

so i come in monday and am told by that same person that "i have to let you go" after talking to the owner who works at another store

that is some BS...do i have a legit gripe

thanks
Matt

Do you have reason to be annoyed? Sure.

Is this a wrongful termination under the law? Not even close.

Sure you can gripe, it is just not considered wrongful termination.

It sounds like this is all due to a simple misunderstanding. What you heard was "there will not be any repurcussions for simply skipping out on work Saturday." What they said was "someone will cover for you." It sounds like you learned the lesson of requesting time off work the really hard way.
