After the modification reached maturity we were told

"We were told" is the most dangerous phrase in the English language. Didn't you study all the paperwork to make sure you knew what your obligations were?

The new owner is claiming...

The attorney for the new owner said...

Never take legal advice from the enemy.

we will have to defend ourselves in court.

Going up against a lawyer without one of your own is like taking a rubber knife to a gunfight. You'll be the one on the ground bleeding.

You might be able to find sample answers to foreclosure on the internet but people on sites like this aren't allowed to give step by step legal advice. You really should have a lawyer.
