Inconvience for some is work time for others. Smart ass.
When you have sat for 2.5 hours behind a wreck that happened at 1:30PM on an Alabama August day whilst 5 months pregnant in a car with no air conditioning and NO way of contacting your employer, hen you can complain.

Ok smartass, go ahead and sue. See how far it gets you. If you can even find out the info of the person who caused the accident. Make sure you get the most expensive lawyer you can find.

While I'm sure that if such a case were ever to make it past a demurrer, even a clever attorney might decline to further a lawsuit he would have to join the other bazillion drivers who were in the traffic jam. But for them, the traffic accident would not have caused a slow down. Service alone would cost more than the lawsuit is worth, let alone the cross complaint against the plaintiff for being a part of the problem to all behind him.

That being said, does it make me a bad person if when I sit in interminable traffic because some yo-yo was playing Ricky Racer during rush hour I say to myself, "Someone better have died up there for this much hassle."?

I want to sue every driver that feels the need to slow down and stare at the fender bender in the shoulder even though it's not in the way or even that interesting to look at...

Humans look at things that are different. That's how we find the fruit and how we avoid the tiger. Modern Humans may someday evolve to a level where we can ignore the different in order to better function in the modern age, but that is a way away.

Still, the fluid dynamics theory of traffic shows the "looky lou" problem really does cause traffic jams (aka jamiton).

One of the major roads around here was designed with the north and southbound lanes offset, in part to discourage gaper delays. Unfortunately it doesn't help when the accident is on the same side of the street.
