What is the name of your state?

In Texas,

Can you get a Public Hearing, or Oral Argument Hearing on a Motion to Dismiss raised by the Other side in a Civil Lawsuit? How would you demand that? Sorry for the repost, I accidentally deleted the last post when editing it.

Generally you can file a reply to their motion (argue against it) and at the same time request a hearing. You need to do it timely as well.

Answer a Motion to Dismiss

In this state, you must object to a Motion to Dismiss in writing. You only have a short period to do so. If the Motion to Dismiss is on a jurisdictional ground (statute of limitations run out or some other ground) then you must provide evidence that the ground for dismissal is without merit.

Do it quickly, and ask for a hearing on the matter where you can present oral argument. The oral argument is usually only for the judge to ask questions, and your actual argument must be in writing.
