My husband's ex-wife filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy 2 years ago. However, we're just finding out about it. It showed up on my husband's credit reports, because he was a co-signor on two credit cards that she included in the bankruptcy. Even though in his divorce decree it spells out that each individual is responsible for his or her own credit cards, etc... will this bankruptcy affect our credit? We will be relocating to another state in about 6 months, and we will be buying a new house and a new car. Will this affect our chances of getting these things?
