My neighbors truck was repossessed after he died in Oct and stopped making payments. His wife would like to sell it to me for the balance owed. The finance company says that she can only buy it back at auction on 27 Dec. Does the finance co. have to give her an opportunity to make good on the debt (i.e. can she sell it to me and pay off what is owed)? I need to take care of this ASAP as she is leaving the state on Wed and won't be back until after the 27th. Thanks for any help.
