What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? colorado. my late husband and i rented from a furniture rental place 4 years ago. we seperated right after that and i assumed he sent the stuff back. he just died on oct 28th 2010. we were both on the rental agreement, and i found out that he pawned the items at a pawn shop. am i liable for the items?? could i go to jail for theft??What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

I would contact the rental place, explain that you separated after this happened and that he died and he was the one that took them after the divorce and that he pawned them. Ask them how much they will want for this, and the cost should be shared by you and his estate assets.
