IF she beat you it was your call to call police ...but apparently you failed to,do,so.....get smarter .

THere is a potential problem if you start locking spouse out of marital home....it's sort of like giving her free bricks for her to toss at your head .

IF the beatings are not old news and lacking in credibility...consider filing an assault and battery complaint AND seekinzg an order of protection

Why are you interested in knowing if it could be considered abandonment?

If you are considering divorcing your wife, New Jersey is a "no fault" state. You do not need to have grounds like abandonment to support the divorce. Irreconcilable differences is enough.

You originally had your question tacked onto a thread from 2001 and the information provided in that thread might have confused you a bit. The laws in New Jersey changed in 2007.
