You might have rights as renters if there is mold in your rental house or apartment. What is the name of your state and what are the conditions (what type of mold, how long has it been present, etc)? Have you or co-tenants become ill from the mold?
If you can answer those questions, perhaps we can provide you with information and advice.
Ohio. I am renting a house, and have, for 5 years approximately. There has been mold, leaks and basement flooding the entire time we have been here and none of it has been fixed. If it was 'fixed', it was a half-assed goony job because the realty company likes money more than safety. And the ceiling still continues to leak etc.
Now, our lease is up in April, and they have this house for sale. Sucks being walked in on all the time for random strangers. But alas!
The bank won't allow the buyer the loan due to the mold in the basement. What does that mean for us as tenants? There was an appraiser, an inspector and then another specific mold inspector. And confirmed it. And.... Yeah.
So. We are moving, but are we required to continue paying rent?
