Heh. I'm one of
those parents who figures that most stuff washes off, the stuff that doesn't probably isn't toxic, and if it's toxic, that's what poison control is for...
So I'm perfectly ok with the marker thing (which, btw I was told was all my fault because I have tattoos and she wanted to be like me), I used to let them paint their entire bodies w/tempera paint and leave painted footprints through the kitchen because I knew it would mop up... we made toad art... dipped toads in water color and let them hop all over the driveway... they get to get temp tats and if they want pierced I'm ok with it. And they still draw on themselves or each other - D'man draws on Twain just to watch him try and peel off the drawing
I don't make 'em wear shoes anywhere but school and the store, and when we lived in the country and they were smaller, I didn't even make 'em wear clothes to play in the pool. I force 'em to sleep outside in the summer...
I let them play in the chicken pen/coop, they hung out in the barn from the time they were a week old... they've probably ingested more dirt and rolled around in more horse poo than any other kids.
I really am a terrible, horrible, no good very bad Mom. Really.
