What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? OH

I did not nor would I think of questioning my daughter about what her mom says. If you would have read it right it says Daughter was telling her friend and my friend about where her mom is and what stepdad said. If she didn't want me to find out then she wouldn't have told her friend nor my friend. She knows that me and the neighbor are very good friends so she obviosely told them so it would get back to me.
I want her mother to stop manipulating her so she can be a happy child like she deserves.

I also must add that this not grandpa's wife that is keeping her. The step grandparents are the ones that have my daughter. So that would make it stepdad's parent's.

Who have as much right to keep your daughter as I do. But wait for OG to further advise.... she's the one to listen to, especially in your situation. ;)

And I still hold that you should have pressed charges or filed a complaint with the Prosecutor's office regarding custodial interference.

And your DD is manipulative enough to get this information to you through this convoluted manner through "friends"..? Sorry I am not buying it.. you seem to be very focused in finding out where Mum is and appear to be no less manipulative than Mum..If all you missed was one midweek visit thus far that was "made up" and Mum wants to exercise her regular parenting time and neither one of has given each other the 60 day notice for summer vacation time.. you will not get very far with any prosecutorial action let alone contempt

Mum is not exercising her time. And DD may be telling HER friends. It is possible. Extremely possible.

OG what should I expect from a GAL?
You should expect the GAL to interview both parents and the child. You should expect the GAL to also talk to other witnesses that are given to them and check out the homes the child will be residing. You should expect a GAL to jump down your throat (either in person or report) if a step refers to themselves as a parent or better than the actual parent. A GAL may also interview teachers, look at school records and speak to other professionals regarding the children. The GAL in your court is normally restricted to 14 hours of work. They cap the fees.

O.k. great! That's what I was hoping for. Will the fees be split? Will they work with you on payments? Thanks for the reply on the last post.

Each of you will be given a certain amount of time to cough up the $350 deposit. Sometimes in as little as seven days. You will want to make sure you hit within that time unless you want to tick off the judge. If you don't, the other party can file contempt as you will be ORDERED to cough up the money.

Do they ever make one person pay all the fees? The reason I'm asking is 1) I'm hoping they appoint a GAL. 2) I lost my job and hopefully soon I will have some side work to do but who knows. My buddy had told me with his case they made his ex pay all but $100 but I do know that all mags/judges are different. Is it possible in summit county.
