I did tell him what I know.
He said "I already know that".
I'm not a miracle worker. Give me my pass back.

So cooperating didn't work.
I bet you did not tell all you know. From your attitude here, I know I'd doubt your sincerity. But, who really cares now? Park off campus. While cdwjava told you the only other possibility, I suspect that is not going to be successful.

For the first time, I ask a fact. What was being looked for in the search? And, was there a reason beyond being out for lunch why the AP was looking at you?

It can be hard to find somewhere to park off campus, it's luck.
They were looking for an artifact. There was no reason the AP was looking at me other than I was in a car off campus during a time period.

What kind of "artifact?" Did a piece of the True Cross go missing from the high school gymnasium?

I'm not saying. But it's back where it came from now. Everything worked out as it should. Which is not me saying I was directly involved.
It really is overboard if I lose my parking permit for a whole year, over a joke.

so, what you call a prank was actually a criminal act where you were in the possession of stolen property.

Which is not me saying I was directly involved.
the fact it was in your car kind of makes you directly involved.

I agree but since it is over a crime, I don't see it as being overboard

So, the AP wasn't too far off the mark - you were involved in something untoward. His intel was good.

What many youths seem to forget is that what seems amusing to them can be criminal or distinctly UN-amusing to others. We have a name for removing an item from where it is supposed to be - we call it theft. And, yes, it can still be theft even if the removal might be intended to be temporary.

Sounds like the AP wasn't shooting too blindly, was he?

No, you stopped short of confessing, didn't you? Don't worry, we're all quite skilled at reading such loaded posts.

I always stop short of confessing to things I didn't do.

Loaded? Where's the evidence?

I guess that I'm sorry my right to refuse an illegal search got in the way of his investigation.

I talked to him today and he was just like, "I already know all that". So what?, the deal was, "tell me what you know and I'll give it back" - NOT "tell me something I don't know and I'll give it back".

This doesn't have anything to do with smuggling any substances.
A question: Since we're not talking about any member of the LE community asking to search OP's car, does this even fall under "illegal search"????

(Cuz I don't think so.)

If it wasn't an "illegal search". It still wasn't required by school rules.

sure it was

so, let's put it this way:

was this artifact the AP was looking for in your car at the time he was asking to search it?
No.

Does that help? Me saying I wasn't 'directly involved' wasn't my way of saying i was 'indirectly involved' either.
