... Sad ... simply, sad ...

Sorry you are an elitist and don't understand ... closed mindedness will do that to a person. We DO understand.
I am going to give it a rest after this.

I think you are one of the smartest, most helpful, most professional guys on this forum.

I still don't think that a Criminal Justice major is helpful. Oh well.

Sorry you think that. I suppose any of us can say that about any number of other academic majors or areas of study we know very little about.

so no one is going to answer my question, then?
that was a bit off topic wasn't it?

here's the thing. i can't tell from here exactly what the court orders are on your end so how they are listed on your record is a bit hard to say. and considering it's not even clear what type of background check is being done (did you know there are varying degrees of background checks) depending on what the company is looking for.

so...good luck on this recent application. and if in fact you are denied, please run your own background check just so you know in advance what to look for.

The paper for the LiveScan stated "conviction only". My assumption is that I should be in the clear because I wasn't actually convicted. Apparently (according to some research I've been doing), the background check will show the arrest for it, but the agency that did the livescan isn't supposed to supply that information to the organization requesting it because they requested "conviction only". Unfortunately, I've read about some people that were still denied jobs that were in the same boat as me.

I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this.
I'm stressed out about it because I'm currently working as a temp for a department store and was hoping to hear about this new job before tomorrow so I could decide whether I wanted to quit the temp job and make plans for thanksgiving or work a 12 hour day tomorrow. -_- I don't really want to make an uninformed decision, quit the temp job, and then have something happen on the livescan and not get the new job. Ya'know?

Regardless, don't quit the temp job yet.

Fingerprints

It first depends on whether or not the fingerprints were submitted / transmitted to the state’s electronic fingerprint database and whether the state forwarded them to the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division. If they were transmitted to the FBI, they’ll show up on an Interstate Identification Index (III) check for criminal justice employment and likely a firearms licensing check through NICS. However, if the agency doing the Livescan is not a criminal justice agency, they won’t have access to the state fingerprint database or the Interstate Identification Index. So the answer depends on (1) were the prints transmitted and (2) is the agency doing the search a “criminal justice agency,” with access to III.
