What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Indiana

I'm well over the age of 30 i have a girlfriend who is 16. She sent me nude photos using her webcam. I had those placed in an inconspicuous folder and her parents found out. The cops came and confiscated my computers and will find these photos. I live in indiana and I know the age of consent is 16 but nude pics you mustbe 18. I've never been in any legal trouble in the past so what kind of legal trouble am I looking at for this?

As an aside, not once in the history of the internet has a post that started off saying "I'm well over the age of 30 i have a girlfriend who is 16" ever turned out well for the poster. Intuition tells me this one won't be the post that breaks the streak either.

Whether or not you will be charged with possession of child pornography depends on the nature of the pics. (and no, do not post details). A topless pic or "tasteful" nude will likely not meet the definition of child pornography at least as defined by Federal law. Anything that is sexually explicit and you are looking at prison time.

A topless pic of a minor girl who has developed? We are not talking topless girl infant. Yeah... child pornography. There is no such thing as a tasteful nude of a teenager. It is all child pornography. It doesn't have to be sexually explicit.

I agree with you except about the sex offender part...she is over the age of consent for Indiana. However he is going to be in a world of hurt over the child pornography part.

Child pornography is a SEX OFFENSE. It comes with registration requirements if you are convicted -- unless INdiana is COMPLETELY off the wall. Hence, if convicted of child pornography he would be considered a SEX OFFENDER.

Ok...I misunderstood where you were going on that part. I thought you were referring to her age. I didn't equate child pornography with a sex offense since I was under the impression that child pornography was a greater crime than a sex offense.
