What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ohio

I am 26 and on SSI disability, but don't actually have a disability. Most people just think I have a disability. I'm getting a job come August, but it will only be part time, and pay minimum wadge, which will not be enough to get me off disability. What can I do to get off disability. I really need off disability not only because I don't really have a disability, but because I still live with my parents who are using some of the money to their benefit.

What disability do your parents, doctors and SS think you have?

When you contacted the disability folks and asked them to cease payments, what did they say?

They think I have autism because I can be emotional at times. But that I know of I think it has never been proven by test or by any other means that I actually have autism. I'm not even sure how I was able to get on disability.

I remember trying to contact social security before about this, but I had no luck. They said I did have a disability even when I told them I don't.

It's actually very difficult for most people to be approved for SSI/SSDI. There must have been a lot of evidence to support the claim.

Call a Neuro Psych to get an eval.

I'm afraid to get a psychological evaluation because usually they think I have some type of mental disability just because I'm so emotional. But isn't human nature to have emotions?
Of course its normal to have emotions. But when those emotions are out of control or context to the situation...That may be an indicator of an issue. Knowledge is personal power...KNOW yourself.

BTW. I have PTSD and a depressive disorder. It makes life much easier for me to understand how my DX can and do impact my life.

My DD has PDD (ASD)...She knows and has educated herself and as a result she does VERY WELL.

ASD is nothing to run or hide from. :)

This forum really isn't the place for answering those questions I'm afraid.

CALL SSI and tell the to stop the payments. Don't ask if you are shown as having a disability - that's not what the call is about.

I have to wonder if this OP is under a conservatorship, which would change things entirely...

That I know of my parents don't have guardianship of me.

The you need to be in touch with the folks at the Social Security office. Your problem is not a legal matter.

I plan on calling social security this morning to cancel my SSI disability, but I'm so worried about what will happen when my parents who use a portion of the money to their benefit find out. What if they get so angry they decide to get guardianship of me. They did have guardianship of me before.
