I sold a rental property in 2018 with gain. In 2016, I had a rental loss (on this property) which I was not able to deduct for that year. For 2018 tax, in which form should I report this carry over loss? I heard somewhere that this is done in a worksheet in form 8582, but I am not sure which form I should use to actually deduct this loss figure from my income (Schedule E? Schedule D? Schedule 1?) Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you need that specific of help, its probably wise to use a tax professional this year.
