Prior to probate however, a will is not a public record. So, if you are asking because you either hope nobody can see your will before you pass away, or you are hoping to know what is in someone's will before they pass away, the answer would be that the will is not a public record.

Who has this public probate record? The probate court? The county recorder,etc..? Thanks.

The will is deposited with the clerk of the circuit court that has venue of the estate of the deceased.
