What is the name of your state?
Just wanted to share my experience with the fort sill pcf for anyone AWOL or thinking about going AWOL. Which in no way am i recommending. To start off I went AWOL from fort benning nov 18th I was in 2 weeks from “turning green” and finishing my first part off osut. I’m not going to go into detail of why I left in short it was because of my parents health problems. I left November 18th and found my way back home. And started researching the quickest way to get a discharge without going through a bunch of trouble. Fort sill is your best bet I waited 80 days and turned myself in after I called usadip multiple times to confirm had a warrant and had a federal desertion charge. Sometimes usadip will give you a straight answer and sometimes they won’t tell you it all depends on who answers the phone. When I got their I got to keep all my personal belongings that I packed so bring extra clothes because you will get to wear them after dinner chow around 5:15. Bring personal hygiene items if you want and your allowed to bring cigarettes and dip but you can’t until smoke until after dinner chow. You’ll be issued a uniform and you will get a hair cut if it’s not within army regulation so no need to get a buzz cut before you leave
Just trim it up. Turn yourself in on a Monday and you’ll likely be leaving by Friday 90% of the time 2 weeks at the most. On Monday you’ll get in processed and you’ll be read the rules of the pcf and issued everything you need. Tuesday will be another in processing day and if your unit didn’t send your dfr packet yet then it’ll most likely be sent to fort sill by Tuesday or Wednesday. Wednesday you will be read by the first sergeant a really nice man and he’ll ask if you want to stay in or get out. Thursday you’ll go to jag and talk to a military attorney and he’ll pretty much ask the same questions as the first sergeant does and you’ll also get your new military ID card. You’ll be discharged administratively with a chapter 10 other than honorable or general discharge you’ll be able to uprgrade a other than honorable to a general after 6 months. Friday you can leave at anytime as long as you have a bus ticket or a plane ticket. Your daily duties include sweeping and mopping in the morning and after that you just watch tv and movies until dinner chow then you can do whatever you want go to the gym, use your phone you’ll have it until 9:30, play pool, or smoke cigs. The people that will be taking care of you are your escorts a really nice group of retirees that joke and play around with you just be respectful and pleasant with them and they’ll treat you with the same respect. It’s not a bad experience at all especially for pretty much committing a federal crime I’m not at all glorifying it or saying you should go AWOL just trying to help people if they are in that situation.

I'd just like to point out that your experience does not necessarily typify the experience that all service members will receive when returning after having gone AWOL.

Yes that’s true if you’ve already graduated osut and go awol from your duty station it could be different. I’m not sure how that works out because they’re wasn’t anyone while I was in the pcf that had gone awol while at they’re duty station or while they were deployed. Sorry I left that out.
