I am living for 9 years in a ground floor apartment on a busy street
Four years ago I got permission to put aviary wiring ( similar to chicken wire except smaller openings)
across the front of my balcony
it is almost transparent and cannot be seen from the street .
The wiring is protection against my pet ending up on the road
And also serves as a deterrent against home invasion
At my own expense I had it professional done
Now suddenly management is demanding that I take it down
claiming that it is violation of my lease .
. They are threatening me with a notice TO PERFORM OR QUIT
and claiming that maintanence will take it down if I do not !

Do I have the right to have the wiring as it is NOT attached to their building
but simply my personal property .

That depends on what your lease says. Take it out and read it. Is there any provision in there that might prohibit you from having that wiring?
