We bought a used car over a month ago. As is from a used car dealer in Florida. Never saw the title. Long story short they still have the car doing repairs on it. We tried to send a tow truck to get it and they claimed the engine was out so we couldn't. We did get to drive it a bit but it had broken down within a week. They said to have it towed there and they would work on it. They are continually giving us the runaround. The salesman and the mechanic literally are 500 ft from each other and have no idea what the other one is doing. We've never spoken to the owner. Why would they be doing this? We cannot begin to make any sense of the whole situation. So here we sit with 3 kids and no vehicle! And out $2200. Any advice as to why they would be doing this? Something has to be wrong here.

Have you tried demanding from the seller either the car or your money back? If so, what did the seller tell you? If you want what you paid for the seller ought to give it to you and forget about the repairs if you dont those repairs.

Why are they doing repairs if you bought it as is?

Generally, you're stuck with it as soon as you drive it off the lot.
