Thanks everyone for the advice, especially about patience and trust in the process..... Currently the DA has possession of the footage and will review it as soon as they can....the police are still conducting interviews....they seem to be as concerned as we are which is a huge relief......stay...

I cant get information directly from the police as I am not a legal guardian nor do I have any parental rights..... honestly this kid has an amazing spirit and she inspires me constantly....shes a joy to be around....she was at recess, sitting down with a book when she was assaulted by this...

It wasn’t intended as a threat but when I read it back I could see how it could be taken as such so I deleted it....I just don’t know the system well enough to trust or distrust it

One person called me back only to tell me they only handle personal injury and said i needed a civil lawyer but recommended no one...Its a really tiny, low income, rural area

It makes sense, i just worry that she’ll get lost in the shuffle and this incident will be swept under the rug....i feel like no one is being held accountable and certainly a lack of consequences...It’s infuriating....

Thanks...I appreciate your advice....Ive reached out to dozens of lawyers since the incident occurred and no one has gotten back to me at all....i dont get it. Its a rural area we live in maybe?
