    Publishing names in newspaper…

Oh, we’re not in it. I ask because my husband manages the community Facebook page and it got posted there. He’s wondering if he needs to remove the post. For the record, we always pay our bills.

It’s a special district. Funded by tax dollars

    Publishing names in newspaper…

CA Our local water utility company just published the names of all their delinquent customers in the newspaper. Is this not illegal? Where can I find the line of what’s allowed and what’s too far?

    illegal search and siezure

I'm in CA, and when I found my dad had passed, I called 911. He had left a letter "in case something happened to him" in which he described where his valuables were, how to access them, including a couple firearms. The police, having read the letter, took those firearms as their only owner was...

    COVID Vaccine

I work in a health care capacity (-ish), and am adamantly against the vaccine. However, the reason for that is that there is zero evidence to-date that the vaccine does any more than prevent symptoms (which is great if you're compromised and severe symptoms will threaten your life). There is...

Problem with my name in company files (Delaware)

Noël is another one... in French, it's to specify that each vowel is to be pronounced - "No-el," not "nolle"

    Gifted a house

In the vernacular, this implies that MHenney is concerned and confused by the woman's claims of fraud. S/He is looking for help to protect him/herself against any possible action that this woman may take. Are you being a stickler, or do you really have no idea?

Boo, I meant to and got caught up in the rest of my typing. My apologies.

Notice of Intention to File 1099-C Form - Scam?

Ok, so I'm glad to see there would be an inquiry process where I would get to explain the situation as I know it. It's not "file this form you don't really understand now or else you're toast" type of situation... Thank you all <3

Notice of Intention to File 1099-C Form - Scam?

My problem is that I have never ever used a check cashing service, so I don't know what this could even be from. I don't believe it's a debt that I owe. Can they really just issue tax forms to biff up my taxes without any kind of proof or connection to reality... or is this a fake, made-up form...

Notice of Intention to File 1099-C Form - Scam?

California I received a letter today saying that I owe an ancient bill from a check cashing store. I have been offered two payoff options or "if no settlement is agreeable please file the form below (a 1099-C) with your 2020 taxes," saying that the IRS will add this charge off to my total...

The answer is yes and no. They give you a very limited time frame to do anything... you can't leave feedback too early, and you can't leave feedback if you wait too long. Frustrating.

    Etsy Purchase

UPDATE: Apparently, my credit card company took pity on me and reversed the charges even though it's WAY passed their 60-day time frame! Thank goodness, and I am NEVER EVER doing business with that seller again!

    Etsy Purchase

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be flippant regarding the state of things now... I just know that unless there's an ongoing, time-sensitive case, the courts are probably not taking on anything new or low priority. And while this is probably just an expensive lesson, I'm super mad at myself for being...

    Etsy Purchase

I was thinking, I'd be willing to make the drive... but then I looked it up. It's like a 30-hour drive :( Sheesh.
