Does a very small city pension contribution effect my social security benefits?

Thank you so much. I do appreciate that. The reason I was concerned was because I had read someplace that when working in a govt. job, a part of your SS benefits can be reduced if you contribute to a retirement fund. But I had no idea whether this applied if you are already collecting benefits.

Does a very small city pension contribution effect my social security benefits?

Thanks...anyone know for sure? I know I can go to the SS website but sometimes it can be a real chore to wade through the info there to try and find something like this. Calling them during these times, it's almost impossible to get through.

Does a very small city pension contribution effect my social security benefits?

What is the name of your state? California I am 67 and collecting social security. I got a part time job (15 hours a week minimum wage) working for the City of Anaheim. Although they do not take any social security out of my paycheck, the do deduct an equal amount for a 'pension' which is vested...

New job after having received social security for 4 months

Update...just spoke with a SS rep and was told that since I have already reached my full retirement age, there is no penalty at all. I can earn as much as I want with any job that I start at this point.

New job after having received social security for 4 months

OK, my SS is $2350/month. My 66th birthday was in February. I have not worked yet all year. I will be making $2100/month starting in August. I found an IRS calculator for this and every scenario I put in, the ONLY time it indicated a penalty was if my birthday hadn't come yet. So, it looks like...

New job after having received social security for 4 months

This "quirk." It can still apply even if I had no income other than SS during any month this year prior to going back to work in August?

    "Do Not Photograph List"

Not knowing this organization and whether or not it is a private one, all I can say after being in the profession for as long as I have is that anyone can have a parent sign a form at any given time but this does not necessarily mean that it usurps the right of a photographer to take such...

Can school refuse to give homework assignments to a diabetic student if she misses a class?

Her mother had a talk with teacher(s) who pretty much told her she must be given assignments when returning from any absence and complete those assignments in the same amount of time alloted (so if the assignment was due in 5 days, she would have 5 days from the time she was given the assignment...

    "Do Not Photograph List"

Agreed, but never meant to imply that you said that. I was referring to what a couple of others said earlier in the post.
