    Yes, it makes sense to do this. Do you have any place where the IRS says I can, in my situation, use a family size of 4 on line 1? This is the only way I can make sense of the whole mess. Thanks, LdiJ for your thoughts!

    Yes, I am filling out the forms by hand. Glad you say the instructions are murky. They tell the person taking 0% to write 0 for family size; the instructions should also tell the person taking the 100% to add in each person to their family size. This is the only way the computations on lines...
