Best way to handle domestic assault charge? (Virginia)

If someone says a violent move was taken when it wasn't that doesn't mean it happened. Do you believe cops only arrest guilty people?

Best way to handle domestic assault charge? (Virginia)

I'm only denying things that are false or make no sense. Like for example when you say a violent move was taken. That is false, there was zero violence involved. I have never once denied the reality of the situation. And no there were no accusations or denials involved in my argument with my...

Quite faulty logic there. Me neglecting a detail doesn't mean I said whatever you want to assume.

Um she pretty much harped on about parenting from a moral point of view in almost every post with nearly zero regard to legalities which is all I care to discuss here. I didn't ask to be judged by some weird soccer mom.

I'd prefer neither of us wind up with any records because of this, if possible.

Best way to handle domestic assault charge? (Virginia)

With all due respect, you are very clearly not a normal individual and I have no choice but to disregard your unsolicited opinions about our parenting. Probably an uptight soccer mom that's never littered before.

Surely people can accidentally collide without it being assault? Again I was reaching for the baby and not her.

That sucks it's a rock and hard place then. Ugh valid point. You've got me pretty terrified now :( I honestly am not even aware of what establishing paternity would entail so I guess that answers that. I did sign the birth certificate but that is all yeah.

Best way to handle domestic assault charge? (Virginia)

I don't know what kind of weird mormon background you come from but yes, the actual incident that took place was extremely minor compared to any other domestic assault situation I can imagine. There was no violence, no abuse, only an argument and an extremely minor collision when she got in my...

Best way to handle domestic assault charge? (Virginia)

Quite presumptuous and rude of you to assume that what we're doing as parents isn't working because of a single mild incident. I fully agree about the wasted police resources and the nastiness of involving them at all. I am very unhappy that she did it. Not much I can do about it though, my...

Best way to handle domestic assault charge? (Virginia)

Please show me in my first post where I said I tried to grab my baby from her arms? I neglected to mention she placed her on the bed first before I reached for her, that's all.

Surely there's a parenting forum somewhere for you to lecture people? I came here for simple legal advice.

She grabbed the child and placed them on the bed then got in between us...

That's very unfortunate for the few not actually doing that.

She called the court earlier asking if she could talk to the prosecutor about it. They said she could write the judge a letter explaining the situation. I'm assuming we're better off consulting a lawyer about that first so as not to say the wrong things in it. Or maybe that's a bad idea in general?
