1099-INT NOT take into account PAID accrued interest for Treasury

Almost every thread I checked here says go to a tax pro, here's example :)

1099-INT NOT take into account PAID accrued interest for Treasury

    1) The amount of accrued interest is LESS (or SAME) than even cost of tax pro service, so it would be CHEAPER (or SAME) to just bite the bullet and indicate it as earned interest. 2) I simply do NOT want to. Yes, there's plenty of stuff I need to learn, but believe me I've been working on...

1099-INT NOT take into account PAID accrued interest for Treasury

One single time I've been to so called tax pro, he completely messed up my tax return and it took way longer to fix than if I would do it myself upfront (I just knew absolutely nothing at that point). I prefer to do everything possible myself, thanks.

1099-INT NOT take into account PAID accrued interest for Treasury

Where did I say I'm "Experienced tax professionals" or even a tax professional? Only "Experienced tax professionals" allowed to ask questions here? Why would they even ask?

1099-INT NOT take into account PAID accrued interest for Treasury

Should 1099-B reflect somehow ACCRUED interest I paid at the time of purchase? Let N denote the number of treasuries I bought. 1099-B looks like this (all numbers below are in "Redemption" line): Quantity: N thousand.00 1d Proceeds: N thousand.00 1e Cost or Other Basis (b): N thousand.00 1f...

1099-INT NOT take into account PAID accrued interest for Treasury

South Carolina Hi, In 2022 I bought some of same kind treasuries WITH ACCRUED INTEREST and PAID for ACCRUED INTEREST at the time of purchase (1st time, it was a stupid deal). I had no experience and ended up paying slightly MORE than the total I received at treasury maturity (broker...

    HSA Excess Contribution

Thank you for your response! Earnings won't exceed 49 cents, so probably will be rounded to zero. There's only small interest.

Hi Guys, I had Excess Contribution (i.e. over 3600$) to HSA account in 2021, and returned amount excess contribution in 2022 (contacted HSA bank of course for this - submitted a form/letter they require). All done before 2021 tax deadline (i.e. on time), but in 2022. Bank returned excess...

Employer reported Relocation income from previous year in next year W2

Can't Department of Labor force employer? I am looking for tax pro who can help with CA taxes. Not sure whats the plan though? Say I find tax attorney who tells me what the right numbers for form 4582 should be, than I file form 4582 myself? This seems to be the only way, if there's no way to...

Any advise on CA tax pro who works with remote clients?

Employer reported Relocation income from previous year in next year W2

Could you please list CA sources you refer to? I believe you, the issue is how to enforce it if employer keeps ignoring even IRS letter. One needs to point to smth in law or FTB publication to file government complaint etc. I cannot just make 4582 with new numbers by dropping relocation.

Employer reported Relocation income from previous year in next year W2

Right, the thing is I'm not in California anymore and won't be there in foreseeable future. Local tax pro likely won't know about another state, so cannot help me with box 16 in W2. Unless I do my homework for CA taxes, it will likely be a waste of money and time.
