[Taxing Matters]

I do apologize.
For a moment I forgot I was no longer in England, but in the USA where money takes precedent over everything else.

No, what you forgot was that there is nothing wrong or unusual about people carrying on to deal with the every day things that living requires while still grieving the loss of someone close. The bills don't suddenly stop coming in when someone dies. Creditors don't suddenly give up just because someone dies. Bills still have to be paid and life goes on for those left behind. And attending to those needs of every day living does mean the person needs some sort of mental professional help or that he or she somehow doesn't feel the loss of the deceased most acutely.

HAVING to take care of day-to-day needs after the death of a loved one, in fact, often helps in the grieving process, the grief of which could otherwise be immobilizing.

I hope by now Neil knows his responses were off-base and insensitive, to say the least.
