  Just wanted to point out two things... That's a pretty clueless statement. That's even more clueless. It's a misdemeanor charge and a "must appear" - on the date filled in on the ticket. You certainly don't think like someone who claims to be a cop for "24 years".

  I'd say that considering the charges they booked him on, any intoxication charge would be easily ignored. My experience has been that when someone admits to drinking and says it wasn't much it was a lot more than they admit to or remember.

  Not sure what you're getting at Q. OP thought he was behaving fine, but he admitted to drinking but not "excessively". Good chance he was intoxicated and severely misjudged his own behavior.

  Exactly. The son should be asking his own questions if he cares about the situation. Or better yet, the son needs to get himself a divorce attorney who will handle the case in a professional and competent manner. He can then ask his attorney these questions.

  I had a big problem editing a post yesterday after a typo. No matter how many times I went in and edited it, then resubmitted it, the changes did not show. I finally had to delete the post altogether and submit it from scratch. I've never had that issue before. Is it a full moon?

  Honestly, some of the OP's story sounds a bit, well, unusual. Certainly if he was under arrest, the grabbing he described can legitimately be part of a good search. If not under arrest then it's obviously a different story.
