the op never came back to answer my question. since the beneficiary is a minor, i was wondering if the trust had instructions as to how to manage the funds. if it did not, there would not be much reason to place it in the trust. but i am guessing that it did, and that was the reason the op...
hi tm, thanks for the comment. on some things, my risk tolerance is low. on others, not so low. but as a general rule, i am a cautious person. but you are correct that my risk tolerance regarding my social is extremely low. however, as you know, i do invest in real estate, etc. so i do...
is my trust illegal if i dont sign my name, print my name, sign the date, and print the page number on every single page of my trust ?
no, but i do it anyway - i like to minimize my chances of problems, when it is an easy thing to do !!!
some things clog up your garbage disposal more than...
yes, like i told you - i already have a tin to use for my commercial property, cuz i wasnt gonna give him my social.
any time you put your social down, there is a chance of it going where you dont want it to go.
it may only take 3 minutes, if i apply for it online - but then it goes thru the...
as i already stated, i wasnt complaining about 3 minutes of time. i was complaining about being forced to have an ein number, which also requires one to disclose his social.
it is also silly to post such nonsense. in your case, there is no difference in what you do. in this case, there most certainly is. someone is being required to have ownership of an ein, for absolutely no reason. so next time, instead of injecting nonsense into a discussion, think twice...
i certainly dont want to be required to get one, for a bank account. but i am glad to know that i could get one, IF I CHOOSE TO HAVE ONE.
it isnt the few minutes i am complaining about. it is that i have a tin attached to me that i dont really want. and it possibly has circumstances...
my credit union contacted the irs, found out what needed to be done. and it was the simplest thing ever, to do. there is absolutely no need to require someone to create a brand new ein. there may be 2 ways to get a job done. in this case, one was the correct way of doing it. you can attach...
well a lot of customers, INCLUDING ME, would simply use another institution to do it the correct way. just because it is allowed, it is still incorrect. forcing a customer to do something that is extremely inconvenient because you are not able to do it the best way for your customer is not a...
thanks. i had that problem, early on - about the name matching the tin
my credit union contacted the irs, and we added my name to the titling, such that there is both the trust name and my personal name on it
but i know it gets reported to the irs with my name and social
it is my opinion...
hi tm, that is absolutely so ridiculous, that i needed to look it up, for myself. i did go to the "create ein for a trust" page. it asks for type of trust. there are about 20 different options, but 1 option is a revocable trust.
it then asks for the social of the grantor of the trust.
so...
i will also assume we are talking about a revocable grantor trust. you do not apply for an ein number for this.
the federal govt does not recognize a revocable grantor trust as any sort of entity
if it did, wealthy people would all have a million trusts, with each entity making very little...
in california, you can have a transfer on death for an automobile. i just dont like a vehicle placed in a trust
hopefully someone here knows whether that is possible in your state
in this situation, i think i would - if i am gonna have 8 trustees, which is what i would do - giving each parent an equal say
i know homes can be bought for considerably less. but i am not sure there are many areas in which 150 is gonna buy the type of property that i am talking about
first...
one thing i wanted to add - i am from california, where 600K is probably near the absolute bottom end of upper middle income, and probably really more like regular middle income.
if one can buy a nice upper middle income like house for 150K, well then i might just have 1 trust per family. in...
hello all,
i was a highly trained systems analyst, by profession. so you better know that i usually have solutions to problems. so let me address some questions
1) the property is owned by 1 trust. so taxes, maintenance, etc. is all paid by the trust. there is income and expenses. the...
