     Plenty of "mentally sane" people take pills. The fact that you would make this statement makes me question your mental state. "Practically"? I laugh every time someone says this. You don't have to be read your rights. Besides, it doesn't seem like you were arrested. When people are stupid...

      In New York it's a "dangerous instrument". Which basically means anything that can be used to cause an injury to another. It get's charged as "Criminal Possession of a Weapon" if it used used for that purpose, otherwise it's just a baseball bat and is perfectly legal.
