Thank you Taxing Matters. Mrs. Neighbor does have an attorney, but he retired and she is searching for a new one. Just wanted to know what the ramifications were.
I will try to make this brief. I am trying to help an elderly neighbor who lives in Colorado.
Mrs. Neighbor found out that two of her husband's adult children from a previous marriage had him sign forms that dissolved the joint tenancy on their home and changed ownership to a tenancy in common...
No kidding is right.
There are only four models of homes in this community. Brookdale owns many of them. I asked what the price would be to do a tear off and replacement for the roof on my home. They said they wouldn't know because all of the damage was different. I then said, just assume that...
Thanks for your help. I sincerely appreciate both of your inputs.
Here is the pertinent section from the covenants (Brookdale bought Skyline, so all references to Skyline = Brookdale):
ARTICLE III
Powers of Skyline and Maintenance
Section 3.2 Skyline Maintenance. Skyline shall provide such...

A member of our HOA filed an insurance claim against the HOA's liability policy.
Should the Board release the name of the individual who filed the claim, or just the general reason for the claim (i.e., defamation, etc.) and the fact...
What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CO
I live in a small community of a couple dozen homes and everyone knows everyone else's business. One of our elderly (over age 70) neighbors (I'll call him A) was recently charged with felony menacing. There are always two sides to the story...
What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Colorado
The question is whether the LL can withhold the security deposit for damages. Security deposit is only $600. LL is my friend and tends to be nonconfrontational, unlike me.
1) From about 2011 to mid 2014, LL allowed a couple and their...
