Thank you for the information 'quincy' and 'stealth2'.
'Zigner' 'Just Blue' and 'TheGeekness' - I really don't understand the hostility. I AM a friend of the young man in this situation. I previously posted a philosophical question - because I was interested in other opinions. Then I posted...
Thank you LdiJ. Good to know. It's possible the mother would consent to her father becoming the child's father. I have not pursued that.
quincy - The biological father is known but he has no interest and the mother has no interest in having him in child's life so is also not inclined to go after...
What is the name of your state? Arizona
I've done quite a bit of research and need to do this myself as I can't afford a lawyer. I have tried to define my questions as best I can.
I stupidly signed an AZ Acknowledgement of Paternity many months ago. At the time I thought (hoped) I was the...
Thank you - and ZIGNER. Very valuable information.
Please understand I am trying to help the young man and cannot control other peoples thoughts, perceptions or actions.
We looked at this - even printed out the Parents Agreement to be Bound by Genetic Test Results. I think this is the best way...
Why? In an attempt to educate myself about contract law in Arizona. The same reason I posted on this thread.
If not a contract, can you tell me what it is and anything about Arizona law governing ability to be bound? I will admit to not knowing everything but I find it hard to believe that a 13...
Mother and grandparents had mail in DNA test done shortly after AOP was signed. The AOP was signed and sent in when child approx. 6 months.
Mother has said no one else possible until test came back and then another name was dropped.
I know. Apparently not communicating well.
Never mentioned any 18 year old.
17 year old mother and 22 year old father signed AOP. Witnessed by 20 year old. What else?
To vent a little...Without excusing the idiot father.
What we have is a 17 year old mother and 22 year old father signing an form that was ‘witnessed’ not notarized by a 20 year old friend and mailed to the state agency. No ID, no appearance - nothing. It is then filed with the force of a court...
I understand the mess relating to a non-father consenting to adoption and possible future problems.
However, we have been told there is a small chance of having non-father removed from birth certificate even if proved to be non-bio dad......after a process we cannot afford. The state likes 2...
LdiJ
Yes, grandparents are adopting child to be rid of non-father. Mother is also good with this. She wants non-father off birth certificate. Have contacted several lawyers. Have no money to dispute form or go down path of DNA proof for reversal. Adoption is least expensive and fastest option...
My question is - Is a form signed by a 17 year old person in Arizona binding if the person has given birth to a child? If not, how would a form thus signed and filed be reversed?
I want to stay on the legal subject so maybe my opinion about the State agency seeming to bend the law was not...
What is the name of your state? Arizona
Stupid situation. 'Father' and Mother signed Acknowledgement of Paternity form. Later found he was not father. Difficult to un-do. Being solved by grandparents adopting child.
I know it is in the interest of the State of Arizona that a child have 2...
