What is the name of your state? FL
My 15 year old daughter took her first job in 2003. It was a part time gig at the local mall. Her W2 shows income of $915, and Federal Witholding Tax of $9.00
Must I file any forms for her?
Thank you.

"Must I file any forms for her?"
*** She must file (probably form 1040-EZ) to report her income and pay applicable taxes.

"She is not required to file. She CAN file to get her $9 refunded if she wishes."
*** After reviewing this issue further, I was incorrect and SOS was correct.

I had failed to read the issue of earned v. unearned income. The IRS threshold for single, under 65 is having to report UNEARNED income greater than $750. However, since her income was EARNED the threshold for having to file taxes is $4700 as shown in publication 929 at:
http://www.irs.gov/publications/p929/ar02.html#d0e308

Mea Culpa!
