I have been living with my boyfriend for 10 1/2 years what are my rights?

What is the name of your state? california
I have been with the same man since we were both 16 and now we are 27. We have lived together since we were 17. We have five children together.
What kind of rights do I have? If any. He's not on the birth certificate for four of children. Was that a bad idea? The reason he's not on the certificates is we always had problem and I didn't want him to take my children away from me. Now I believe he has fathered another child with what was a so called friend. Do I have legal rights to find out if that is his child? Because they both denied it. But they have been seen together in public with the child. I need any kind of information you can give me.

He, if he has standing and petitions and the mother of the other child have a right to DNA test to establish paternity, with that will come child support, he could if proven to be the father, petiton for custody and visitation. You have no rights about that child.
You can have your children DNA tested, you can establish paternity, custody, child support, while you are together.

I knew that I wouldn't have rights to the other child, but do I have rights to find out if it is his child? I believe they are still being together. The other women is getting welfare for that child in question.

My response:

You have the same "rights" to find out if that child is his, like I do. And that's no right at all. You wouldn't have any "rights" to that kind of information even if you were married to him.

Goto the Maury Povich Show, click on paternity tests
http://www.uni-television.com/maury/
Or better yet goto http://www.jerryspringer.com/ and let us know when you will be on.
Both shows will also do lie detectors too!

It is very likely that you will find out in the very near future. If Welfare is involved, Mom is legally required to cooperate with child support services and give up the name and info on Daddy! Unless she has committed a criminal act and your man is the Dad....

You will get all the information you desire........in the form of a big fat monthly child support order!

Be patient.......CSS wastes no time.

You have 5 children. It would REALLY be in the best interest of your children to establish paternity and child support ordered now, before the other mom gets there first and collects so high of an amount that your children can't recieve much at all. If she goes on welfare the state will go after dad for child support whether she wants them too or not. Your only recourse is to get a child support order established first.

How Do I Go About Doing The Paternity Test For My Children?
Where Do I Go And What Do I Do? How About Child Support? What If I Was Getting Welfare At One Point? Since He Was Or Still Is A Illegal Immarigant With No Social Number. Will Anything Happened To Me? Will He Have To Pay Back To The County?

Goto this link, goto your county and then to the family law section and file your paternity case there and fee waivers if you need them. http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/courts/trial/courtlist.htm
However, If your boyfrined is an illegal with no SSN both you and this other woman will have difficulty getting child support via court orders. I suggest you consult an immigration attorney. Are you a US citizen?

He said it not his child. But with the response I get from the female is ask him.
Of course he sticks to NO it's not mine. I don't know if she put my boyfriend
on the birth certificate or any thing like that. All I know is that she is getting
welfare. Yes, he has a work permit.
