In 1994 my mother a permanent resident petitioned for my brother & I to become residents under the family unity program. Well ever since then we have been renewing our Employment Authorization Card every 2 years, and there is still no sign of us being able to become permanent redisents. We can work legally, but we can't travel outside the U.S. My boyfriend(he is a resident) goes to Mexico every Dec. and it's very fustrating not being able to go with him. Is there anything that can be done to speed up the process or to at least get permission to travel outside the country? There is also a new problem my mom just passed away about 1 month ago how will that affect our situation? My Dad is now a citizen, but both my brother and I are over 21, so a lot of people say it would be like starting all over if my dad petitioned for us now. Do you have any advice?
