What is the name of your state?Washington
My 15 year old daughter lives in Kansas with her dad and his common law wife. Common law wife threw her(my daughter) across the room when she (my daughter)tried to stop a fight between her(wife) and her dad. The police were called and wife went to jail. I dont want this woman to be able to be in the same house with my daughter. My daughter is moving back home with me, but not till the end of the school year. Will the state of Kansas put a no contact order in effect even her dad doesnt ask for one? Is there anything I can do to make sure there is one, at least until she can move home?

Well it seems that she is not in jail. The local police took her back to the house to get some of her belongings and escorted her off the property. She will be sending for other belongings later. As for my daughter filing for the order of protection, she is only 15. Can she do that without and adult?

yes she can. and if the police do not take her complaint, then she can contact the court herself to file for the order of protection.

Thank you. I will be talking to my daughter later this afternoon, and I will tell her. I just hope that she will do it, she doesnt want her dad to be mad at her. Geez he really is an AssH--e! If she wont do it can I? From here in Washington? For her there in Kansas?
