What is the name of your state?
I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I made a mistake and shoplifted from a mall kmart. They didn't call the police. All I know is that I'm banned from the mall for 3 months and kmart for 2 years. Other than that I have no idea what's going to happen. The man who caught me said that I should be getting mail from the company and to call a number on monday. Does anybody know what the consequnces will be? Do I have to wait for mail to find out? I'm 19 btw.

At the very least, you will get a letter demanding 'civil recovery' for your criminal act as allowed by by Colorado 18-4-405:

18-4-405. Rights in stolen property.
All property obtained by theft, robbery, or burglary shall be restored to the owner, and no sale, whether in good faith on the part of the purchaser or not, shall divest the owner of his right to such property. The owner may maintain an action not only against the taker thereof but also against any person in whose possession he finds the property. In any such action, the owner may recover two hundred dollars or three times the amount of the actual damages sustained by him, whichever is greater, and may also recover costs of the action and reasonable attorney fees; but monetary damages and attorney fees shall not be recoverable from a good-faith purchaser or good-faith holder of the property.

Thanks for the information but does the information also apply to Colorado?
Sorry about that!! I was also responding to a thread about an issue in Oklahoma and clearly got them confused. I have edited my previous post to reflect the proper state. Mea Culpa.
