Message board threatened to notify my ISP

I was banned from a message board. Well, I went back 3 days later and made fun of the board owner. I basically made some new accounts and posted messages like "owner is gay" and "owner is a homo" . Stuff like that. Nothing threatening just dumb stuff. Well, one of the moderators e-mailed me and said they were thinking about notifying my ISP. How much trouble could I potentially get in for that? I won't do it again. I just wondered what could possibly happen. Can I get arrested for making messages in which I make fun of someone? I only did it for a couple hours.

**A: that was a dumbass thing to do. The ISP can shut you down.

I thought this was pretty typical behavior for the internet. I see name calling on every forum. This thread makes me believe otherwise. It's like the Twilight Zone. The worst that can happen is my ISP closes my account ? Big deal.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Move please. Good grief. Why MY STATE? can't you get a life elsewhere?

Legally, yes your ISP can shut you down. Also if you are saying stuff like that you may get sued by the owner of the list for libel/slander/defamation if what you are saying is not true. Granted that might not accomplish much but cost you a LOT of money but it is possible. Also if the owner is a female, Ohio has defamation per se -- one of the definitions of which is impuning a female's chastity -- which by calling her a homosexual and saying she is gay could qualify.

Now please move to WV or somewhere.
