I am a fireman divorcing after 18 years of marrige my wife is disabled. I've been on the Dept for 11 years so I have a vested intrest in the pension and a deferred comp plan. We have two minor children who live with me. I've been grossing 1200 a week for the past 3 years and I have 550 after taxes and the mortgage payment. My wife is on SSI (600/mo) and Section 8, (she pays 80 dollars a month in rent). She and her lawyers want 300 a week and half of the deferred comp and pension. Or 200 a week half the pension and instead of half the deferred comp, they want me to provide her with a car 7 years or younger and pay for the repair upkeep and insurance on the vehicle. I offered to give her half the pension and deferred comp, and 150 a week so she can pay her bills and keep up a car on her own. We have a Judge Advocate's meeting coming up and I would like to know which side the Advocates would say is more right.?
