What is the name of your state? Idaho

What is the legal age that a child can determine which parent they want to live with? And if their mom has legal custody of them, but they want to live with their dad, how do they go about making that change?

At 18 they can determine where they want to live.

The answer is the same as it has been each of the 50 billion times this question has been asked. 18, except in GA.

Children to not make these decisions. If they informed you tomorrow that they'd decided to no longer go to school, would you allow that? Didn't think so.

If Dad wants a change, he has to file for it.

This question has been answered hundreds of time. A child has to be 18 to make the decision for themselves. A judge can take their wishes into consideration, normally around the age of 12 or 13 but that is solely up to the judge! In order to petition to change custody there has to be a change in circumstances.
