What is the name of your state? KY

We had a house fire a week ago. Fire damage to kitchen and heavy smoke damage to rest of house. Insurance has been good except for one thing.

Without me even asking they are replacing all carpet, all appliances, ozone treatment, cleaning and painting of all walls and ceilings, replacing all mattresses and family room furniture, and a lot of personal articles.

They have determined that even though all this other stuff needs to be done - my computer, which was running at the time - has been cleaned and is ok.

Let me say that it pulled in so much soot that it was coming out every crevice on the front panel.

It is a new computerl. 2004 Sony Vaio. It also has a new hard drive replaced this past August. Everything I have read says that what is likely to happen is that parts will begin to fail and there is no proof that it is because of the soot and I am screwed.

Any suggestions???What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?

he says that if the tech says it is ok - then it is ok.

I am not ok with this!! I don't need a host of problems down the road.

Can I fight this? If so - how?

Read your policy. It specifies how much coverage you can receive for a damaged computer. But, if an EXPERT says that it is okay, why wouldn't the adjuster listen to that expert?
