What is the name of your state?

You and the military poster below are on a roll so I didn't want to clutter up the thread.
I'm trying to assist someone on another site. The person is being hounded by a CA over a cc, THe SOL is not applicable.
The person is in the Army and currently stationed in Ger. for at least another year and possiblly as long as 3 years. In 90 days his unit deploys to Iraq.
Is he safe from any sort of default judgment? They are sending dunning letters to his APO address so, they know he's military. Is there some way to place them on notice to basically put this on hold until he returns?

I would suggest that he get his commanding officer to write a letter detailing his military status, current station and duration. Then, he needs to contact the CA and put them on OFFICIAL notice that he is covered by the SSCRA.... and include the letter from his CO.

It is IMPERATIVE that he discuss his situation with his base legal office and they can best advise him on his rights and actions.

This is not an absolute assurance of a stay of process.... but it could bolster any claim that he might make on his return. And remember, the SSCRA is NOT intended to allow military personnel' to avoid civil process or obligation but is intended solely to protect their rights while on active duty.
