My son was involved in a car accident last April and as of this date, 8 months later, no charges for either DUI and/or Vehicular Assault have ever been filed against him. I was wondering how long they have to file charges if they are going to.

Most criminal SOL's are two years or more. To find the exact SOL, you will have to determine the actual charge being considered and then review the statute using the reference I provided.
