father's friends

two young women have befriended my father. they now refer to the family vacation home as theirs own and want more information about our family's primary residence. i am the stepson but there are three natural siblings who are emotional drained. we have lost 2 sisters and our mother in the last 5 years. my father had a stroke and the two young women were by his side. my father has not lost his wits but he not 100%. they have already taken command of his personnel finances and i believe he has signed a will in their behalves. the vacation property and the primary residence are in my father's name. i could confront the women and/or my father but we do not have the energy or time take care of our father and run our own families. what should we do in texas?

My response:

I'm not quite sure I understand you. Let's see if I do . . .

I think you're saying that if we give you the answer to the problem, you still won't do anything for your father because " . . . we do not have the energy or time take care of our father and run our own families."

If I'm understanding you correctly, then all I can tell you is to let "nature" take it's course, and "run your own family".

Probably the same thing that you'd do in any other state.
If all is as stated in your post I imagine that you would sit and watch as your father, in a mild state of dementia and during the twilight years of his life, is hustled out of his life savings by a pair of golddiggers, while you whine about not having the energy or time to afford him any protection.
(I'm sure that this sounds rather harsh, but it is a conclusion drawn from the facts in the original post.)

Two unemployed thirty-year old women waiting hand and foot on my eighty year old man and I suggest he move in with family members or let one of the family move in with him, not. Twenty years ago when he retired, my mother put her 401K down for the property and dwelling. I do not believe she meant for two women my father met in a bar to disinherit her 5 children. But I guess in the legal profession this kind of behavior is an art form.

So basically, you are upset that they are taking his money for providing a service that his children refuse to provide. His children are stressing because they may end up with nothing?

What you basically want to happen is for the two women to be thrown out, for the father to dumped in a nursing home and to ensure that there is enough money left for the children to get their grubby hands onto.

It is all about money, not what is best for the father or who will take care of him.
