LLC pros and cons

What is the name of your state? georgia
what are the pros and cons of an LLC for me and my wife to try and protect our money now that we are older? Understand I know nothing about them. Biggest thing could the llc own all our cars and the liability? could it be a non-profit llc?

Protected from what? Even if the LLC owns the car, if you are driving it you have personal liability.
