we signed a purchase & sales agreement for a house in the state of CT that stated it had 3.14 acres. During a title search it came up that it only has 2.14 acres, the other acre was a "handshake" deal between the owners and the property owner next door. Now the real estate agent is stating that the sellers have 4 problems with the title.
What do we do? We have already have a closing date on our house for August 10th and are worried that these issues will not be resolved by then. The sellers real estate agent did not do a title search until after we signed the paperwork, is that normal? We are first time homebuyers and are not familiar with the course of action in buying a home (from a legal standpoint) Thank you
