Negligence/wrongful injury suit.
Husband was ran over by an 18-wheeler who was illegally dumping on his property. We are suing the driver's employer who also owns the truck. Employing company is insured.
My attorney wants to spend $11,000 for a mock trial.
Depositions have been taken. Court date set for August.
Why should we spend this kind of money for a "practice" trial?

$11,000 Mock Trial

Policy: $6 million
Demand: $2 million

Medical expenses. 1 year loss of work. Permanent disabilities. Future operations needed. Long-term medical. Demand amount probably too low.

Has anyone heard of spending this kind of money for a practice trial???

You did not specify the amount of damages and what type.
Maybe the attorney needs the practice.
make sure the attorney practices with your relatives not his that way the 11,000 will stay in your family seriously though if the 11,000 practice session results in an extra 100000 in the award would you question the amount then?
