What is the name of your state?IA

Posting a question for a friend.

She just received a letter/bill from the State of Iowa telling her she owes a fine from 11 years ago. She believes that the fine was paid, and is going to refuse to pay it. The question is this; If this is indeed a valid ticket, would the state not have stopped her from renewing her drivers license? The ticket was for a traffic violation, so it would deffinately have been recorded against her license. The interest that has compounded over 11 years has brought the fine to over $900.

Thanks for any thoughts or help.

Computer systems and databases are always being upgraded. As things get better, more databases are married up with the system, and old tickets like this one crop up.
