What is the name of your state? GA

I filed Chapter 7 over 11 years ago and learned from my poor financial practices. I have rebuilt my credit but have a question concerning establishing a credit relationship with a past credit card company. If I apply and are granted a new account will I be under an obligation for my past debts discharged under the bankruptcy?

No, your debt is gone for good. However, many credit card companies maintain an internal blacklist and if you ever owed them money and didn't pay, they'll deny you on those grounds.
Don't waste an inquiry.
The exception seems to be Amex. Several on other sites have gotten Amex cards after discharging an Amex sebt in bk by paying off the old debt. Amex tells them to fill out an application and they'll preform their normal credit review. Seems like they will give you a fair shake.
