12 month lease agreement

can a lease be broken because of hardship reasons. How can i get from under a lease agreement thats been effective for three months now??

my daughter and i signed a lease agreement at a university campus, and now she is having a hard time finding a job. she has no income other than a refund from a student loan, but the refund is only enough for two months. can i be held liable for this even if i cannot afford it, because of bankruptcy. i hope there is a way around this. can't find a sublet to take over. help
